What we do

Automated Platform

We develop advanced statistical models and run them on our proprietary platform. These models run continuously, so that whenever new input data is published, all output data is immediately recalculated and delivered automatically to our clients. We generate predictions for all key real and nominal economic variables – GDP, CPI, industrial production, retail sales, exports, imports, and more – as well as widely followed macroeconomic surveys such as PMIs.

Independent Research

Our team of research economists conducts independent research in model development, continually advancing the state of the art in nowcasting methodology. We publish our findings and contribute to the broader academic and practitioner community, ensuring our models remain at the cutting edge of econometric science.

Client Research Projects

We undertake bespoke research projects for both private and public sector clients. This includes building and running customised models tailored to specific requirements, adapting existing methodologies for different purposes, and applying our nowcasting expertise to new countries and economic variables.

Our coverage

At present Now-Casting has models for 34 of the world's largest economies, including both advanced and developing economies, amounting to more than 85% of the world by share of GDP. This geographic scope continues to increase as new countries are added to the service each year.

The series used as inputs are of multiple different frequencies – daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly – and are all publicly available macroeconomic series. In addition to forecasts of specific macroeconomic variables, we also publish economic activity and surprise indexes for each of the countries we cover.

Our founders

Now-Casting was founded by a group of academic economists who developed the nowcasting methodology that is now widely used by central banks and financial institutions worldwide.
